GENUGEL® and GENUVISCO® Carrageenan Line
CP Kelco Carrageenan products are a family of sulphated polysaccharides extracted from certain species of red seaweed. By using the appropriate carrageenan product, the formulator can create textures ranging from free-flowing liquids to solid gels. Carrageenans have an established position as uniform gelling and texturizing agents of high functionality. Recent need to find nature-based products in the household and industrial markets is making carrageenan attractive to formulators to replace synthetic or petroleum-based products.
GENUGEL® and GENUVISCO® carrageenan products can be used to create rheological profiles ranging from free-flowing liquids to thixotropic liquid gels and self-supporting solid gels with a wide range of textures, setting temperatures and melting temperatures. With a single carrageenan product, a range of viscosities and gel strengths can be obtained by adjusting other ingredients in the formulation.
In addition to offering standard types, CP Kelco works in conjunction with customers to develop new products and formulations for specific applications.
